The Mythological Transceiver is an experimental media project that explores the intersection between technology, folklore, and invisible environmental phenomena. The device acts as an extended perception system, using cameras and sensors to translate signals beyond the visible spectrum into visual and audiovisual outputs. Inspired by local Ticinese mythology and contemporary 5G conspiracy narratives, the project imagines modern electromagnetic frequencies as forces capable of awakening dormant spirits hidden within the Alpine landscape.
Through real-time data collection — including thermal imaging, vibration, electromagnetic fields, and light frequencies — the system generates dynamic visual distortions that transform invisible signals into perceptible experiences. Multiple displays present live data, processed imagery, and sensor-driven visualizations, turning speculative narratives into an interactive conceptual installation. The project investigates how technology can reshape perception, blending scientific instrumentation with mythological storytelling to question the boundary between reality, belief, and digital interpretation.
